The stock plunge was instigated by a series of cascading human and machine errors; and all because the date of the original article was wrong!

A UK company has come up with a software to recover deleted SMS.

Previously, it would take atleast 10 - 20 seconds to open up an average sized PDF file (1537 KB in size) using Adobe Acrobat reader.
The nice people at the Institute for Posttayloristic Studies in Austria have come up with an interesting(?) work around for people who want to watch the world cup but only have access to telnet. A stream of the World Cup in ASCII!
Finally found a great free UML tool.
Came across DIA, whilst searching for alternatives to Visio. DIA is pretty much like ‘Visio’, except that it is free! It too can be used to draw E-R diagrams, UML diagrams, flowcharts, network diagrams, and simple circuits. To find out how good or bad it is, I tried out this simple use case diagram (left).

A colleague introduced me to GanttProject last week. I been using it a lot since. Its just so simple and easy to use, yet delivering almost all functionality as that of Microsoft Project. Another point thats very appealing about it is that, GanttProject is free! (A license for that evil MS Project costs around S$1000).
