Nigerian “killer” phone numbers
I just read a BBC article that reports of that “rumour has spread rapidly in the commercial capital, Lagos, that if one answers calls from certain “killer numbers” then one will die immediately.“
Talk about scammers and their poor superstitious victims! The Register is also carrying a good article on this “breaking fake news”! Haha! Anyways, continuing with more “breaking fake news”, there’s apparently a confidential letter from Nokia’s CEO (quoting Gizmodo) detailing how, in some cases (particularly if the user is especially gullible or easy suggestible), Nokia phones can release a burst of electromagnetic energy, causing heart failure, brain hemorrhaging, and in some cases Instant Death Syndrome.

I wanted to share this other story I had recently read about a trio of scammers in Lagos. Its about this group of 3 scammers, a priest, a taxi driver and one more guy. It goes something like this priest is supposedly a bigshot reverend and he has this very special ability to “forsee one’s future”. The trio put up quite a convincing act and after making the victim to part with money, to reverse the prediction, they just vanish. Whilst Googling for it, I came across a website dedicated to those scammed by Nigerian 419 Scam Artists. Whats more the site got some pictures of a few scammers! Seems like what goes around, does come around huh?
